Kinetin is a cytokinin plant hormone commonly used for cell division promotion in plants.
The plant hormones cytokinins include plant growth regulators that are involved in the stress response, senescence, photosynthesis, nutrient assimilation, nutrient mobilization, among other plant life cycle processes.
In cytokinins, the signal is perceived by the histidine kinases and signal transduction occurs through a multistep phosphorelay from membraneâ€bound receptors to the nucleus to mediate transcription of cytokinin response genes.
